Welcome to Birthdays in Literature! Many people know when Shakespeare was born or when J. K. Rowling celebrates her special day, but I wanted to shine a light on the talented authors who may not be household names—yet still enrich our lives through their stories. While their names may not appear in history books, their words matter, their creativity inspires, and their contributions deserve to be celebrated. Join me each month as we honor an author and help wish them a very Happy Birthday! 🎉📚

Today's birthday spotlight is Eileen Hobbs.

Eileen Hobbs is an award-winning author of eight books for children ages 7 to 11 and a picture book for ages three and up. When she isn’t writing, Eileen enjoys gardening, walking on the beach, and traveling. Each of her books reflects different aspects of her life. The Heath Cousins Series is inspired by her two children and their cousins when they were young. Under the Golden Rain Tree is set in Thailand, where Eileen grew up. Her latest release, The Girl from Korn, chronicles her great-great-grandparents’ journey from Russia to Corn, Oklahoma. Eileen hopes that when children read her books, they will be transported to another place and time, and enjoy a world filled with adventure and friendship.

Piper is the award-winning author of The Country Girl Empress series. When she isn't busy typing on her computer, she can be found chasing after her furry children or holding on tightly to a good cup of coffee. Follow her on LinkedIn, Facebook, Medium, and Goodreads.
